Summer training rides.
The Condor RC then continue through the summer months with their Sunday morning training ride covering anything between 50 and 80 miles, arrangents are ad hoc but are to be found on their blog. Condor RC and the Halifax Imps have a joint weekday training ride setting off from Luddenden Foot at 7pm on a Wednesday..
Short Social Ride
Another joint run organised by the Halifax Imps and the Condor, a 20 - 25 mile evening ride which invariably ends in a local pub (it is a social ride after all!) A steady ride where the emphasis is on making sure everyone stays together. Meet by the Central GPO in Halifax at 7.30 (for 7.45) every Thursday.
Long (all day) Sunday Ride
The experts at this type of ride are the Halifax CTC, to them the longer the ride the better and for that reason there's an emphasis on endurance rather than speed. For details go to http://www.halifaxctc.org.uk/
'Middling' Sunday Ride
The Halifax Imps organise a well attended Sunday Club Run. The distance will vary from about 50 miles to anything up to 80 miles generally at a reasonable pace. For a full listing go to the Halifax Imps website.
Rides for the over 50s
The local Autumn Tints group organise weekly Calderdale runs starting from different areas of Halifax ( arranged each preceeding week). If you’d like to join a ride, ring Philip Lees on 01422 357632 on Monday or Tuesday evening prior to the published run. All runs are on a Wednesday. Calderdale rides are at a steady pace with the emphasis on country lanes where feasible.
