Sean Smith finds some form at last

Sean has been waiting patiently for racing form all season - it finally came on Sunday.

The Halifax Imps rider rode the Bashall Eaves Vets RR, a national series event that attracted the top vets in the North of England. At the end of an active race, Sean finished third overall in the 55 mile event for 40 - 49 year olds and first in his 45 + age group. The race was won very decisively by national champion Roy Sumner who finished with a two and half minute leave over the 12 man chase group which included Sean.

Upcoming Vets Road Race

Plans for the clubs biggest promotion of the year, the Derek Smith Memorial Road Race, are well underway. The event, scheduled for the 8th May, is based on the popular Norland Circuit. We're looking for club members to help with the race, if you're free please report to the HQ at the Greetland Sports Hall from 9am. Full details on the start sheet.

Daniel returns to racing with a bang.

After a steady start and not competing last year, Daniel Shaw's season is now starting to ignite with a fantastic personal best last week on the V718 out near Hull. Multi-champion, Michael Hutchinson could only improve by 3 seconds on his last visit to the course and post an 18:04. Daniel improved by a whopping 39 seconds and sliced 31 seconds off his PB in the process (and broke the club 10 record into the bargain). Let’s hope this is just the start of things to come!
